How do the Japanese cook rice?

Preparation

All you need to prepare is a rice cooker and a bag of rice that you can buy at the supermarket. This is not the type of rice you can heat up in a microwave.

Making

  1. Connect the rice cooker to an electrical outlet.
  2. Measure 150 grams of rice and place it in the black bowl inside the rice cooker.
  3. Fill a black vessel with water. Then dump the water.Be careful not to spill the rice.
  4. Add water again. This time, stir the water and mix until the water is cloudy white.
  5. At the end, fill with water and discard.Now you have finished washing the rice.
  6. Fill the black vessel with water up to the line marked 1.
  7. Put the black vessel back in the rice cooker and close the lid.
  8. Press the button marked "炊飯" This button is often located in the middle of the rice cooker buttons.
  9. After waiting about an hour, the rice cooker makes a sound. Then it is done. Please eat.
